Idea Map of B & A
It has been awhile since I finished Making Butty 003. We went through Christmas, big snow in town, new year and Chinese new year. A Butty comics is published on webtoons & tapas.io. Also, I started to use capcut to make the Butty comics into video format. It explains the delay of making butty 004. I am running to make this article as the Idea Map. I put the ideas in point form at below. If I have some extra time, I will make it as an Idea Map.
The Idea Map of Butty:
- The Butty Universe: It is all related, associated and somehow linked to the “Butt” theme.
- Butt Theme Examples: Butty’s home planet is Twin-Bottom Earth (Butt theme), which is a moon (Butt theme) of the planet Uranus (Butt Theme). Even the shape of the planet has two-bottoms that also shaped like the bottom of the coca-cola plastic bottle bottoms.
- Butty & Clan Design: All the beings within the But-Clan are base on the original Butty’s appearance then branch out. I have other clans in my idea map, for example: Ass-Clan & Bottom-Clan.
- Borrow from Game of Thrones: There are Houses within But-Clan. Like GoT has different houses within the 7 Kingdoms. In But-Clan, so far we have: House of Butty, House of Butler, House of Buttress, House of Butterfly, House of Buttercups, House of Butterfish, House of Button so far.
- Different type of Associations: I name it “But-Clan “is because all of the names of the houses begin with either “But” or “Bu”. It is an “out of the box “ idea by choosing to expand the Houses names by word choices instead of the physicality of Butty. It breaks off boundaries on who and how can be part of the But-Clan, for example: the clan has butts, fish, plants & insects, etc.
- Inspiration from Brain Cell: I enjoyed creating the characters for different houses, groups and with different abilities. It makes me think about brain cell. Each character is the neuron. The are some many neurons but all are separate individuals. By connecting them together will create new sparks, ideas and synergy. The connection here would be use stories to weave the characters together. It leads to the creation of Butty Comics.
